Artistic Residency
The residency is intended as a moment of mutual exchange in which musicians, through musical encounters, can develop a creation and performance of traditional and contemporary repertoires.
Performances, exhibitions, workshops, are committed to giving back the result of their artistic work to the community and the territory.
The residency hosts male and female frame drum players, but is also open to composers, individual musicians, and musicians and ensembles playing other instruments.
The Mediterranean Frame Drums will act as a cord to create moments of musical relationships on different repertoires.

There are Stories that need to be told, Sounds that need to be lived, the faces of the Singers and singers moved me, those songs that I listened to were rivers and blessings, for this reason you cannot miss the next concert. With me many guests, ethnomusicologists, researchers and many Singers and stornellatori to give prestige to this Ciociaria.
Sunday 19th May in Alatri there will be the first concert dedicated to the book "Sounds and stories at the foot of the Ernici Mountains" edited by Giuseppina Colicci, published by Squilibri Editore

Like music, for example. And dance. And all the arts.
Yesterday was a day full of positive emotions, for several reasons:
we had the great opportunity to bring our show inside #LiUcciFestival ;
we were rewarded for #winning the #UcciFolKontest ;
we had the immense fortune of seeing many friends again and sharing the stage with the excellent musicians of Civico22 (MEI winners).
Below is the logbook of yesterday. Look at it and tell us if this doesn't really seem like the right medicine, the cure.

The Trillanti winners of the “Luigi Stifani Festival” in Santa Maria al Bagno (LE)
I Trillanti, gruppo di musica popolare ciociaro, chiudono in bellezza il loro tour estivo: dopo l’uscita del loro primo lavoro discografico intitolato “Vento Aquilone” con la relativa presentazione che li ha visti protagonisti in una piazza Santa Maria Maggiore ad Alatri (loro paese natìo) gremita di curiosi ed appassionati, chiudono l’estate con la vittoria al festival “Premio Luigi Stifani” a Santa Maria al Bagno, frazione di Nardò (LE), riportando questo prestigioso premio a casa.
Il Festival nasce come un memoriale in ricordo di Luigi Stifani, “padre delle pizziche tarantate del Salento” e depositario più importante del tarantismo che attraverso l’efficacia terapeutica delle sue composizioni e del suo violino (assieme al tamburo di Tora Marzo e agli altri strumenti che lo accompagnavano), curava le donne “tarantate” portandole verso una vera e propria rinascita della persona.
L’interesse per le composizioni di Stifani e per la sua opera, cresciuto notevolmente dopo la sua morte, l’esistenza di un ventaglio consistente su tutto ciò che ha creato, la voglia di rendere giustizia alla sua figura e alla cultura che tutt’ora rappresenta, hanno permesso al memoriale di arrivare, quest’anno, alla sua XVI edizione grazie all’obiettivo che molti studiosi di varia estrazione (anche semplici divulgatori) si sono assunti, e alla spinta di Giovanna ed Antonio Stifani, figli del Maestro e dell’avv. Luigi Galeani.
Il “Premio Luigi Stifani”, tenutosi 25 e 26 agosto ha visto alternarsi sul palco ospiti tra i più rinomati nel mondo della musica etnopopolare insieme a cinque gruppi in gara: I Maè, I Marimai, Radici Popolari, Scattacore e, appunto, I Trillanti, che sono riusciti a strappare la vittoria e a riportare un bel primo posto proprio qui, ad Alatri.
La giuria tecnica è stata presieduta dal grande musicista Ruggiero Inchingolo e ha visto la presenza di personalità di spicco nel panorama etnomusicologico italiano, come lo studioso Salvatore Villani.
-È un premio per tutta la Ciociaria, che siamo fieri di condividere con tutti coloro i quali amano la musica popolare, esattamente come noi- afferma il leader del gruppo Mattia Dell’Uomo.
Il primo posto al “Premio Luigi Stifani” è stato per I Trillanti (e anche per Alatri e per tutti noi, loro concittadini) motivo di orgoglio e vanto. Perché esibirsi su un palco di tale importanza, tra artisti provenenti da ogni parte d’Italia, portando così in alto il nome della Ciociaria e vincere, non è stata cosa da poco, e nemmeno da tutti.
